Namchi is situated 78km away from the capital city of Gangtok. It is popular for its Buddhist pilgrimage centers. The largest statue of Buddha is located here. The famous Dalai Lama laid the foundation stone of the idol in 1997. The name Namchi means top of the sky. It is a fast prospering tourist locations.
