Jagdalpur

Jagdalpur is a city in the tribal district of Bastar in Chhattisgarh, a state in central India. On the banks of the Indravati River, ornate Bastar Palace was built by the region’s former kings. The nearby Anthropological Museum displays tribal artifacts. West of the city, Chitrakote Falls cascades over broad cliffs. To the southeast, tigers roam through teak and bamboo forests at Kanger Valley National Park.

As Jagdalpur is the administrative headquarters of Bastar Division and Bastar District, the management of the district is controlled from here. A major area of the Bastar district is made up of Jagdalpur and its adjoining areas. The city of Jagdalpur is known for wooden handicrafts, which have a demand in the local as well in the international market. An airport has been constructed in the city and named Jagdalpur Airport, but the airport ahs not been operational till now.
