Bhismaknagar

Bhismaknagar (30 km from Roing) is the oldest archaeological and mythological site in Arunachal Pradesh, dates back to 12th century A.D. The fort was excavated during 1969-1973 which yielded terracotta plaques, decorative tiles, potteries, terracotta figurines etc. Popular legends and traditions identify the ruins of the fort as the site of the capital of Raja Bhismaka, father of Rumini (wife of Lord Krishna).
Bhismaknagar, tourists will find scenic beauty consisting dense forests, beautiful valleys, rich giant mountains and so on. Located in the Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, Bhismaknagar is a small village community and a sacred heritage site for the sub-tribe Idu Mishmish. The name of this city was derived from the name of a king Bhismak who was reigning over this place in ancient time.
