Hampi Utsav, also known as the Vijaya Utsav, Festival of Hampi has been celebrated from the times of the Vijayanagar reign. This event has been reiterated as the "Nada Utsava" by the Government of Karnataka. Hampi being a World Heritage Site is a international tourist spot . This festival is attributes to the mega cultural extravaganza, held from 3rd November to 5th November every year.Renowned artistes all over India come forward in bringing the grandiose days of the Vijayanagar Period to the present day . The rich culture of Kannadigas in the fields of dance, music and art thus showcased complement the beautifully carved ruins of Hampi .

The Hampi festival is a grand spectacle of dance, drama and music amidst the ancient ruins of Hampi, the majestic capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. Organized by the Government of Karnataka, the Hampi festival is held every year in the first week of November. It is also known as the Vijaya Utsav.During this gala event, the quaint life of Hampi reverberates with dance, drama, music, fireworks, puppet shows, and spectacular processions all combining to recreate the legacy of its royal heritage. On the eve of the Hampi festival, artists from different parts of India congregate here to weave a magical blend of art and culture.

History
Hampi festival is considered the largest festival of Hampi region, although there is no fixed date of celebrating the festival, but it is usually celebrated in the month of January. This event is famous in the south region of India, where everyone visits Hampi to see the festivals dating back to the Vijayanagar times. Thus, it is one of the reasons why Hampi festival is also known as the Vijaya Utsav or Hampi Utsav in their local language. Hampi festival brings all the major events of Vijayanagar Empire together, especially stressing on the main events of those times. The festival gets people from different parts of India and apart from those, even Bollywood actors and popular artists attend the show as chief guest or even perform.

How to Reach Hampi
Being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hampi is a place frequented by visitors from all parts of the country and abroad. The nearest railway station from Hampi is the Hosapete Junction Railway Station in Hospet, which is the gateway town to Hampi and located at an approximate distance of 13 kilometres from it. Visitors can take a bus from Hospet to reach Hampi. However, the nearest airport to Hampi is the Hubali Airport, alternatively known as Hubballi Airport. It is situated at an approximate distance of 180 kilometres from Hampi. Buses and taxi services are available to reach Hampi from Hubali.
