How to Reach Delhi

Being the capital of the country, New Delhi is well connected to all the major parts of India and the world. The Delhi Airport serves for domestic as well as international flights. New Delhi also is a main railhead, being well connected to all major cities in India. State buses also run to and from neighbouring cities.

By Air :
Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) is the busiest airport in the country both domestic and international flights are available from here. From here frequent airplanes fly for metros like Mumbai Hyderabad Chennai Bengaluru and Kolkata. This airport has two major terminals - Terminal 1D and Terminal 3 Where domestic airplanes like Indigo and Go-Air are found from Terminal 1d international airplanes fly from Terminal 3. Located in Palam this airport remains in a broad area of ​​5106 acres. Trains arrive at the metro line every 10 minutes to get to the airport from the city center. You can also take a taxi from the government-authorized pre-paid taxi-counter at the airport to go from there to the city.

By Road :
Delhi has good connectivity by road to major tourist cities like Agra, Jaipur, Shimla, Manali and Dehradun, among others. Major bus terminals serving the city include Interstate Bus Terminals (ISBT) at Anand Vihar, Kashmiri Gate and Sarai Kale Khan. Besides, regular aair-conditioned buses ply from Himachal Bhawan in Mandi House to prominent hill stations like Shimla and Manali. Similarly, buses for Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur are available from Bikaner House on Pandara Road. Delhi also has a network of highways that connects the city with other part of the country. One can enjoy a comfortable drive to Jaipur and Agra by NH 8 and NH 2, respectively.

By Train :
Delhi has four main stations - Delhi Junction also called "Puraani Dilli", New Delhi lying in central Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin in the south part of the city and the Anand Vihar in the east. The Delhi Junction and New Delhi railway station are connected by Metro Line 2, while Anand Vihar is connected by Metro Line 3. The Hazrat Nizamuddin is the departure point for most trains heading South and Anand Vihar operates most of the east-bound services. There are taxis and buses available outside all the stations to take you to different parts of the city.
