Bhadrapad Ambaji Fair

Ambaji is an important temple town with millions of devotees visiting the Ambaji temple every year. It is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. The full moon of Bhadrapad is one of the four most important festival days of the year, when farmers and agriculturists come to Ambaji.

The Ambaji shrine is the principal shrine of the goddess in Gujarat and its origins are still unknown. The original seat of Ambaji mata is on gabbar hilltop in the town. The Temple of Ambaji is recognized as one of the original Shakti Pithas (religious texts) where, according to the ancient Scriptures, the heart of the goddess Ambaji fell to earth when her body was dismembered. A triangular Vishwa Yantra, inscribed with figures and the syllable 'Shree' in the centre, represents the deity. There is no idol, which in fact testifies the temple's antiquity. Idol worship became popular much later.

Ambaji fair is specifically more important to farmers as it symbolizes the end of busy monsoon season for them. Devotees of Ambaji Mataji are celebrating Ambaji Purnima(full moon day) fair with full of devotions. The Bhadrapada Ambaji Fair is a fair where not only Hindus but all the all religion people come to visit the fair and participate in the fair. In this fair more than fifteen to Seventeen lakhs of devotees use to come to worship Ma Amba on this eve and thousands of them come here in community like Padyatri Sangh with the spirit of faith simply by walking from far distant areas situated even at the other ends of Gujarat and from all parts of India. Thousans of such Padayatri(Pagpala-Walking) Sang use to come here to celebrate a Big Religious Fair of Shri Ambaji Mata.Many Padyatri come with Amba Mata Rath.Really Ambaji Fair is very important and Gujarat's Biggest fair.

In this fair Daily 29 Lak litre water will be available with facility of water tanks at 27 places, tap water places, machine tanker at 13 places and handpumps 141 place. The entire area of fair has been distributed in 22 zones and 9 sectors.19 Dysp, 236 PSI and cops will be involved in bandobast.7 control rooms, 27 watch towers, 101 CCTV cameras and 17 PTZ cameras will be used to keep vigil. Aarti will take place at 6:15 AM.Temple will remain open 1:30PM.Separate twin railing facility has been created for quickly moving queues for darshan.
