Royal Rajasthan with Ganges 16 Days

Duration: 16 Days / 15 Nights
Destinations: Delhi – Nawalgarh – Bikaner – Jaisalmer – Jodhpur – Udaipur – Pushkar – Jaipur – Agra – Varanasi – Delhi

Day 01: Arrival – Delhi:
Arrival, meeting with our local representative in Delhi, and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: Delhi:
After breakfast at the hotel, begin a tour of Old Delhi (Shahjahanabad), including the Red Fort and the "Jama Masjid" (Friday Mosque), followed by an exciting pedal-rickshaw ride through the narrow, bustling lanes of Old Delhi. Next, visit New Delhi to see its most important monuments: the colonial-era government buildings facing the India Gate, Emperor Humayun's Tomb, and the Qutub Minar complex. Overnight stay.

Day 03: Delhi – Nawalgarh (290 km; approx. 6 hours):
Transfer to Nawalgarh, traveling through the Shekhawati region. Visit the village. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 04: Nawalgarh – Bikaner (190 km; approx. 4 hours):
Departure for Bikaner, a city situated within the vast Thar Desert. In the afternoon, visit the Junagarh Fort—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—which is ranked among the most beautiful fortresses in the world, renowned for its exquisite sculptural artistry. After the visit, transfer to the hotel and check-in. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05: Bikaner – Jaisalmer (330 km; approx. 7 hours):
After breakfast, depart for Jaisalmer, traversing nearly the entire expanse of the Thar Desert as you approach the western border with Pakistan. In our opinion, Jaisalmer represents the most exotic—the most "Arabian Nights"—destination of the entire journey. Stop for a visit to Gadi Sagar Lake.

Day 6: Jaisalmer:
After breakfast, visit the fortified citadel and its palaces. Particular attention will be paid to its numerous temples and *Havelis* (mansions), such as Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli, Salim Singh Ki Haveli, and Patwon-Ji-Ki-Haveli. In the afternoon, enjoy an excursion to admire the sunset over the dunes of the Thar Desert on camelback, guided by local Bedouins clad in their fascinating cloaks. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7: Jaisalmer – Jodhpur (265 km; approx. 5 hours):
Breakfast, followed by departure for Jodhpur—the "Blue City"—a town situated on the edge of the Thar Desert, characterized by walls featuring eight gates that enclose its historic core. Visit the imposing Mehrangarh Fort. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8: Udaipur (260 km; approx. 6 hours):
After breakfast, depart for Udaipur—the "White City"—widely considered the most romantic city in Rajasthan. Stop en route to visit the Jain temples at Ranakpur, a true masterpiece of marble carving created by the artisans of the era. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 9: Udaipur:
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a tour of the "White City" (also known as the "City of Dawn"), including the City Palace (which remains the residence of the Maharaja) and its museum, as well as Sahelion Ki Bari—the royal garden that once served as the Harem's private retreat. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat excursion on Lake Pichola to visit the Jag Mandir Temple. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10: Pushkar (320 km; approx. 6 hours):
We resume our journey toward Pushkar, a sacred city famous for its Camel Fair, held during the full moon between October and November. In the evening, we visit the sacred lake and its ghats, as well as the only temple in India dedicated to the god Brahma. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 11: Jaipur (146 km; approx. 3 hours):
Breakfast, followed by departure for Jaipur—the "Pink City"—a dream destination for today's travelers just as it was for the merchants of yesterday. Its "pink" hue comes from the sandstone used to construct its palaces. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. The afternoon is free for independent activities.

Day 12: Jaipur:
Breakfast at the hotel, followed immediately by a visit to Amber Fort—located 11 km from Jaipur—an imposing fortress of the Rajput civilization. To ascend the final stretch of the climb to the fort, you will mount the backs of placid elephants, almost as if to evoke the ancient exploits of the Maharajas. Inside the walls, you will visit palaces and pavilions of exquisite beauty, as well as the small yet precious temple of the Goddess Kali. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 13: Agra (240 km; approx. 5 hours):
After breakfast, depart for Agra. En route, visit the "Ghost Capital" of Fatehpur Sikri—built by the enlightened Mughal Emperor Akbar—which was eventually abandoned and the capital moved back to Delhi due to water supply issues in this extremely arid region. Splendid temples and palaces remain, though they are now inhabited by monkeys and parrots. The afternoon is dedicated to sightseeing in Agra. The Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World—a magnificent dream in marble rising from the center of a lush garden like a pearl set within an immaculate landscape. Check-in and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 14: Agra – Delhi – Varanasi:
Breakfast at the hotel. Fly to Varanasi; upon arrival, transfer and check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, take an excursion to Sarnath—located about ten kilometers from Varanasi—one of the most revered sites in Buddhism. History tells us that it was at this very spot, within the Deer Park, that the Buddha Shakyamuni (the Enlightened One) first revealed the teachings of Buddhist wisdom. Return to Varanasi.

Day 15: Varanasi:
Breakfast at the hotel. At dawn, enjoy a boat excursion on the sacred River Ganges, gliding past the Bathing Ghats—the stone steps where pilgrims and devotees gather to greet the rising sun with prayer and ritual ablutions. Free time is available for relaxation or shopping in the city. In the evening, attend the Aarti Puja ceremony on the sacred River Ganges. Return to the hotel.
